Our roots date back more than 30 years when we spun off as the risk management department of Zapata Corporation to become Risk International in 1986. Later that same year, we gained our first client as an independent company—the Fortune 200 company BFGoodrich. Both Zapata (now Harbinger Group Inc) and BFGoodrich (now part of United Technologies Corporation) remain clients today.

Risk International quickly gained a reputation for protecting corporate resources and optimizing total cost of risk (TCOR) as a result of remaining independent from the conflicting interests of the insurance industry. Utilizing our proven model for enhancing shareholder value and delivering significant bottom line savings, we expanded our service offering. In 2014, we acquired Bartlett Actuarial Group to launch our actuarial services group. That same year, in response to growing concerns regarding skyrocketing employer-sponsored health plan costs, we launched Risk International Benefits Advisors to provide the same type of unbiased counseling that had become a Risk International hallmark.
